General terms of use

The use of www.w3cvalidator.com is governed by these general terms of use, referred to below as the TOS. Any change will be published on this page. If you do not wish to accept them, or are not authorised to, please do not use the site. For any question, write to contact@1avance.com.

1. Presentation of the service

W3Cvalidator.com offers a free online tool that crawls a publicly accessible website and checks the markup of its pages against W3C standards, together with informational pages about validation. No registration is required and no personal data needs to be supplied to use the service.

2. Rights to the service

The service is the exclusive property of W3Cvalidator.com. You are granted a free, personal, non exclusive and non transferable right to access and use it, all other rights being expressly reserved. The texts published on this site are protected by copyright and may not be reproduced without permission. In accordance with Internet practice, advertising may be inserted within the service.

3. Conditions of use

You may only submit addresses of sites you own or are authorised to analyse. The tool must not be used to place load on a third party server, to circumvent an access restriction, or as part of any automated process. Usage is limited to 80 analyses per 24 hours per visitor, and any attempt to bypass this limit may result in access being blocked.

The crawler identifies itself in its requests and only fetches publicly reachable pages within the domain submitted. It does not attempt to access private, local or internal network addresses.

4. Availability

The site is accessible 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, except for interruptions, scheduled or otherwise, for maintenance or in cases of force majeure. The publisher cannot be held liable for damage of any nature resulting from the unavailability of the service. The markup checking engine used by the tool is an external public service whose availability is outside our control.

5. No warranty

The service is provided as is. The results are given for information purposes and do not constitute an audit, a certification or a guarantee of conformity. The absence of reported errors does not mean a page is free of problems, and the presence of errors does not mean a page is unusable. You remain responsible for the decisions you make about your own website.

6. Personal data

Consulting the service does not give rise to any processing of personal data on our part. The addresses you submit are used only for the duration of the run and are not stored afterwards. Cookies placed by audience measurement and advertising, and the ways to exercise your choices, are described on the cookies page. You have a right of access, rectification, erasure and objection, which you may exercise by writing to contact@1avance.com.

This site links to external resources, in particular standards bodies and documentation, and to other sites published by the same publisher. The content of those sites is the responsibility of their respective authors.
